Our original plan of going to Lake Powell was interrupted by the road closure from the Grand Canyon. Since I picked what we did the day before, today was Ben's turn.
To start the day, Ben got a latte and I got their Macys Special (espresso, steamed hot choclate-topped w/ whipped cream) and we both ordered sticky buns at Macys European Coffee House and Bakery. We drove to nearby Wheeler Park to plan our day and enjoy our breakfast.
Route 66 goes through the city and I loved cool vintage signs and buildings. We weren’t taking Route 66 this trip but here are a few interesting stops when we go back.

Ben decided to drive to St. George, Utah. The drive is about 4.5 hours. Since we didn't have any set plans, we made plenty of fun stops along the way to enjoy the beauty of Arizona and Utah.
Heading north on the 89, we came across an abandoned and vandalized gas station and a motel. The gas station had vibrant murals that caught my eye from the side of the road. Ben and I decided to pull over and jumped out to take some photos. The color of the buildings, art, and desert background provided great material for my photos. The Native American imagery was beautiful and told a story.
We passed several Navajo booths on the side of the road. Most of them were empty, not sure if that was because of the heat or Covid. One of them seemed like the perfect stop for us to stretch our legs and take a couple photos.
