After my walk at Congress Trail I was trying to find something that wasn’t a hike for Miss Reagan to enjoy. Knowing she was allowed at the campgrounds and just off the roads, we headed up the mountain to Wolverton which was considered a snow play area for kids, available for sledding and such. I even saw one family building a snowman. I am not sure if Miss Reagan loved the snow but it was fun to see her first time in it. She really is a great adventure dog.
At this point it was starting to get dark and I didn’t want to drive down the mountain with icy roads. So I started to head back, with maybe time for one more stop. I decided to pull into the parking lot by the visitor center, as a I did this thick fog started rolling in creating beautiful light streaming through the trees.
Immediately grabbing my phone and camera, I captured these amazing photos. The lighting, large trees, and snow created this magical moment. As I walked further along this short trail, there were people waiting for the sunset. Seeing how cloudy it was, I left that location hoping to get to a better vantage point to see the sunset.
As I drove down the foggy winding road, I reminisced about the unique experience I just had at the park. The clouds started to clear for the sunset so I decided to pull over to enjoy the view. I sat there in awe as the clouds moved quickly and the sun illuminated the sky with vibrant colors as the mountain tops peaked through.
